How You Could Be Crippling Your Own Success

Posted on

Your mentality and your mindset matters when building a business in the beauty industry and really, in every facet of your life.

Are you living with a scarcity or abundance mindset?
Let’s have a short self evaluation, shall we?

Do you currently think or say to yourself:

“There are too many artists in my industry.”

“My area is so saturated with artists!”

“I don’t want to share my secrets or favorite products with other artists. I don’t want them to know what I use.”

“There is not enough to go around.”

“If the artist’s in my industry/area/network are winning, I’m loosing!”

If you answered “yes” to thinking, saying or feeling the impeding doom of any of these above statements- this article could change not only your career, but every other aspect of your life.

The above statements reflect a person who leads their life with a SCARCITY MENTALITY. A scarcity mentality is a crippling mindset of comparison, superiority, resentment and  fear. People who operate in the scarcity mentality often resent people for their successes and see their fellow network of artists as the enemy. People with the scarcity mentality very seldom make it in business (long term) and studies show this mindset can cost them potential earnings, friendship and HAPPINESS.

If you do operate under this fear based mentality-there is GOOD NEWS; today is the day you can change your mindset and thus, change your life by thinking with an ABUNDANCE MENTALITY.

Here is how we can shift the statements above.

Did you know most successful leaders and CEO’s in the world operate under the abundance mentality?

Let’s take Anastasia Soare (Founder of Anastasia Beverly Hills) as an example of this principle. She is one of the most popular and well known names in the brow industry and cosmetics world. Anastasia is a great example of an abundance mentality- she is always encouraging other artists, complimenting and shouting out competitors products, and even cheering on her past clients who have since turned into her “competition” in the cosmetics industry (Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Rhianna, Mario Dedivanovic). Does encouraging, embracing and befriending other artists and her “competition” weaken her? NO! In fact it is an attractive quality that builds her reputation, network and empire!

Shifting your mindset to the abundance mindset can and WILL change your life positively as both an artist and person. There are truly limitless possibilities, friendships to make, things to learn and people to beautify!

In relation to this article, we want you to have the chance to network with other artists in the beauty industry!

We are thrilled to announce that we have teamed up with the one and only eyelash extension company, Lash Affair, to have a beauty industry mixer! Invite below!

I think this is so true and can really help people take on their mindset and change it!! Someone else’s success has nothing to do with your own!! It is easier to blame our failures on anything other than ourselves… but it only brings you down.

This is such a great post! Really speaks to me because I have been wanting to get back into my photography business but kept having those thoughts of there being so many photographers already and how will I get new clients. Thanks so much!
